2026 Quarter 1 Mileage Winner!

First Quarter Mileage Champion: Bob Smith’s 7,210-Mile Journey

We’re excited to spotlight our first quarter mileage contest winner, Bob Smith!

Bob started the quarter on his 2025 Tri-Glide, putting on 644 miles before upgrading mid-February to a brand-new 2026 Street Glide 3 Limited. From there, he didn’t slow down—adding another 6,566 miles by the end of March. A major highlight of his mileage came from an unforgettable ride to Key West, contributing 4,124 miles to his total.

With an annual Key West and Daytona Bike Week trip already on the calendar, Bob made it a goal to hit his 1,000-mile service before departure—so he wouldn’t lose momentum on the road. Thanks to a stretch of mild February weather, he made it happen.

Bob rolled out of Wahoo on February 26, joined by longtime friend Bud Osantowski.  Bud and his three brothers owned Columbus Harley for over 50 years before closing the doors. The two headed south, stopping in Rogers, Arkansas, then Vicksburg, Mississippi, before reaching Florida. After a night in Marianna, they continued to Naples, navigating heavy traffic along the way—including a memorable ten-mile stretch of stop-and-go congestion.

Opting for a scenic route, they rode the Tamiami Trail instead of the interstate, taking in wildlife (including plenty of alligators) before heading through Miami, down to Key Largo, and ultimately arriving in Key West on March 2. The ride across the Florida Keys included 42 bridges—highlighted by the iconic Seven Mile Bridge. 

While in Key West, Bob fully embraced the experience—fresh seafood, key lime pie (twice daily, no regrets), and nightly sunsets at the pier with street performers.

After a few extra days in the Keys, Bob made his way to Daytona Bike Week, which marked the 85th annual event and Bud’s 30th year attending. Among the highlights? Catching a glimpse of the famous Budweiser Clydesdales pulling their wagon down Main Street.

The journey home included a stop in Jasper, Alabama, and even a visit to the Barber Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham—home to an incredible collection of bikes, including a rare steam-powered model.

Despite some windy conditions and brief rain showers, Bob described the trip as overwhelmingly great riding weather. He wrapped up the journey back in Wahoo on March 10 average 33.9 mpg on the trip.

To top it all off, Bob proudly shared a look at his accumulated HOG mileage—a testament to years of dedication to the ride.
